The questions new players ask most in the Steam discussions, with the answer and who gave it.

Fast travel with sleds
- Find a sled at a location and press F next to it to unlock it.
- Unlock a second sled somewhere else. The developers mention the church sled as an example.
- Go to either sled and choose Travel to go to the other.
The Horizon sled is up on one of the raised wooden platforms in the settlement, next to a fire.
Getting metal scrap and cloth
Items whose description says they “can be broken down” only turn into scrap at a dismantling bench, not from the inventory. Players found the bench is unlocked through a quest; until then, use the one inside the church. If you're short on iron for crafting, check the cave by the radio tower and the crevasse near it.
Storage and crafting
- Storage crates are buildable; existing cabinets in shelters also hold items.
- The furniture blueprint lets you build wall shelves. Players report large chests stack.
- Crafting only uses what you carry: there's no crafting from nearby containers yet. The dog can carry supplies for you.
